The Council had earlier planned to phase out GNM programme and to have a single entry level for nursing by the year 2020-21, however it has not been considered feasible to upgrade the schools of nursing to colleges of nursing at the moment.

Hence GNM programme will be continued and students can continue to enrol for the coming years till further review.
